Wills, Probate & Administration of Estates
Wills should be reviewed and updated regularly. Karen Cheevers, Aneta Ladzinska and Thomas Mannion comprise the team in this area, bringing long experience, knowledge and skill to all aspects of this vital document which plays a part in all our lives. Spending some time and relatively small money now can save much more money, and a lot of stress, later.
The death of a loved may be a sad but ought not become a traumatic experience. Mannion Solicitors LLP have extensive experience of all aspects of Estate Administration, taking out Probate, administering Estates when no Will has been made, completing Deeds of Family Arrangement where appropriate. Advising executors on their duties and obligations, to beneficiaries and next of kin, we ensure the process is dealt with efficiently and clearly explained.
Conscious that disputes can cause hardship and anger, we approach matters with great sensitivity whilst protecting our clients’ interests.
Mannion Solicitors LLP can advise on taxation aspects affecting beneficiaries, utilising an extensive range of tax agents and independent advisers when appropriate.
Enduring Powers of Attorneys
We advise all clients to carefully consider how they might cope in the event that they or other family members suffered tragically from an accident or illness, being deprived of their mental capacity and the ability to look after their own affairs.
We advise on the appropriate steps and actions necessary to put in place precautionary measures to deal with such possibilities. Why not appoint a family member under an Enduring Power of Attorney now, to have legal responsibility for loved ones’ if needed later ?
Wardship
Wardship arises where someone no longer has capacity or has diminished capacity to look after his/her affairs if no Enduring Power of Attorney had been done.
We advise on the steps to be taken, ensuring transparency in all we advise throughout a challenging process for those not used to such difficulties, often sudden or unforseen.
On a successful application to have a person entered into Wardship, a Committee is appointed to look after the Ward’s affairs, his/her wellbeing, needs and requirements, whilst acting under the guidance, instruction, and protection of the High Court.
We advise on Representative Care Orders in the Circuit Court under the Fair Deal and Nursing Home Support schemes.
